We are pleased to announce that the Board of Trustees of VOICE Philippines Inc. has appointed Mr. Jesus S. Espina, Jr. as the first Filipino Director of VOICE! His appointment is effective May 1, 2011. After much prayer, we rejoice in the Lord’s provision at this time.

Brother Jess grew up in southern Leyte and came to Manila to study engineering at UP Diliman. During his freshman year, two classmates shared the Gospel with him, and he came to faith in Jesus Christ. In his final year, he started attending Diliman Campus Bible Church, where he continues being a member, having just completed a term as Chairman of the Church Council. One of his burdens has been ministry to the urban poor. It was while he was attending the Third Lausanne Congress on World Evangelization in S. Africa that he was challenged to consider full-time Christian ministry. We are pleased that the Lord has prepared him, and led him to this role with VOICE Philippines, to bring hope and direction to public school students.

Brother Jess is married to Janet Juan, from Guiguinto, Bulacan, and the Lord has blessed them with three children: Jem (15), Ian (12) and Charissa (8).
